"Most makeup artists are freelancers. I started the same way 25-30 years ago. We picked up our knowledge from each other, or from foreign courses and books, since specialized training programs didn't exist yet at the time. I worked in numerous television studios — RTL, TV2, Duna TV — on domestic and international film productions, commercials and photo shoots, as well as fashion shows. From 2012 I became the lead makeup artist for Parlament TV, Ozon TV and Life TV. I founded Budapest Makeup School in 2008. From that point on, teaching and running Budapest Makeup School became my main focus. One of my school's proudest achievements was winning 1st place in the Beauty category of the IMATS International Makeup School Competition held in London in 2017, through Orsolya Fehér! From 2011 we became a favorite recurring feature of the Korda Film Studio / Korda Visitor Center, which provides us with a continuous challenge as well as a great opportunity for our students to showcase their skills. Getting makeup training recognized as an independent profession is a cause close to my heart. In 2009 I was the first in Hungary to have our courses accredited, and I have continuously followed the changes in adult education ever since. Completing licensed and market-based makeup training is expensive and time-consuming. So choosing the right school or training program is a top priority, both for the instructor's and the participants' commitment. For aspiring, future makeup artists who want a comprehensive learning experience including special effects makeup, it can be hard to know which schools take this seriously.
